Most of my paintings have been concerned with an exploration of light coming through dark foregrounds.  Raised in New York City, my work originally emphasized impressions of light as it passes between elevated train tracks or into old warehouses.  Now my studio is in more sylvan surroundings and the context has changed to California landscape and foliage - yet the exploration of light still concerns me.  My work has become much more abstract, offering many new possibilities.
